PTFC hosted its first-ever Signing Day Celebration at Liberty Steakhouse on Wednesday evening to celebrate the players who solidified their college commitments on National Signing Day.  PTFC is proud to recognize and congratulate the following twelve players from the ’97 Black and ’97 Lady Black teams:

“This is a special and exciting time as we celebrate these players’ commitment to their college programs,” said PTFC Director of Coaching David Upchurch.  “We wish these players great success as they continue their careers at the collegiate level.”

Keith Fontaine, coach of the ’97 Lady Black team who had 11 players sign on National Signing Day, said, “I am so proud of these girls.  Their hard work has paid off and I couldn’t be happier for them.”  Many of the ’97 Lady Black players have played with each other and for Coach Fontaine since coming together at the U13 age group.

The ’97 Black boys team had one player sign his NLI, with Benji Omungu committing to Gardner-Webb University.  “I am very happy for Benji and his family,” said Taylor Johnson, coach of the ’97 Black team.  “Although new to this team, I’ve watched Benji’s high school career up close and have seen him develop into a very good and intelligent young soccer player.  I know he will continue to achieve success during his time at Gardner-Webb.”

Everyone at PTFC would like to wish each of these players the best of luck as they move on to their respective college programs!
