Q: Who is PTFC Junior Academy for in 2018-2019 Season?
u7-u8 Boys and Girls born in 2011 & 2012.
*u8 players born in 2011 can also choose Youth Academy for a higher level soccer experience.
Q: What is the PTFC Junior Academy?
The PTFC Junior Academy aims to provide an additional experience to Recreation Soccer. Players registered with PSA, KSA, & NCUSA Recreation Leagues can sign up for this program while playing for their Recreation team. This program gives an additional soccer experience for players looking for an easier transition to the Youth Academy. Our practices and games will focus on having fun, player development, and realistic game situations that will allow your player to thrive on the field.
Q: Where & when does the Junior Academy Practice?
Q: What does a typical year look like with the Junior Academy program?
Early September- End October: Fall Season - Practice 1x a week, 2-3 play dates
Mid February-End March: Spring Season - Practice 1x a week, 2-3 play dates
Q: What are we looking for?
We are looking for players wanting to learn/improve, players able to stay focused, players ready to have a ton of fun, players ready to transition from Recreation to Club Soccer.
Q: How do we sign up?
Junior Academy players will register when they register for their fall season with their Recreation Team (PSA, KSA, or NCUSA)

Q: What is the training environment?
Our Youth Academy Pool Training System is designed to maximize the opportunity for each player to develop and succeed at the appropriate level. To help facilitate individual growth, our coaching staff uses aspects of both pool training and team-building. This enables our coaches the freedom to move players and structure teams from week to week to ensure each player is placed in the right learning environment. We follow the Play-Practice-Play model put in place by US Soccer.
Q: What size soccer ball does my player need?
All players should have a size 4 soccer ball. They will need to bring a ball to all practices and games.
Q: What is the game format?
Games are structured in a 4v4 format during the season. We will transition toward 7v7 at the end of the spring to prepare them for Youth Academy.
Q: Is playing time guaranteed?
Yes. A large part of our Junior Academy curriculum focuses on match play and learning through in-game scenarios.
Q: Can players play on their recreational team and participate in the Youth Academy as well?
Yes! Players are required to participate in either PSA, KSA or NCUSA
